Tricky Window
This window was tricky to treat because of its shape and location on the house. The window faces the front of the house, and they need privacy, but wanted to be able to completely open the window during the day. There is only 1” of clearance above the arch to the crown, so it was a tight squeeze. The solution was to use a double rod and have traversing sheers in the back. They are Euro pleated and are capped off with lined and interlined rod pocket panels and swag overlays with bullion trim. When open, they have a full view out the window and still are able to close the sheers for privacy in the evening.

Project: Padded headboard and footboard inserts, plus swags, for master bedroom
Customer wanted to "fancy up" a king sized bed, especially the headboard and footboards. Inserts were cut out of 1/8" lauan plywood, covered with 1" foam and dacron wrap, lining and face fabric. The cover was then stapled in a diamond-tufted pattern, with self-covered buttons tied on at each tufting point. The sections were installed with small screws driven behind several of the buttons.

Ultrasuede Cornices with Arched Bottom
These are ultrasuede cornices with an arched bottom (to follow the arch of the windows) in a bay. Each section of the cornice is about 6 feet wide. The bottom of the cornice is embellished with nailhead trim.

Underneath the cornice are silk stationary panels. The cornice was constructed in three pieces off-site and then assembled on site and installed as one large piece. There are no legs in the inside corners of the cornice- because we needed the panels to hang there. Although labor-intensive (and heavy!), they turned out great!

SCOT ROBBINS Workroom Valet
For Myrna and others who have asked about the WORKROOM VALET. You may call 1-888-77-VALET to order. Scot will also be at the D&WC Conference in Knoxville Tenn. Feb. 28-March 2. Go to www.dwconline.com for more information about the conference.

Workroom Association of America will be in charge of the "Working Workroom" in Knoxville. You may see the valet upclose and try it for yourself at the conference. Scot also has other popular products such as the Parkhill Swag system which is a tried and true tool to make beautiful swags easily. I have owned one for years and it has made lots of money for me by saving time building swags.

In my own personal business, (Plumlee Place LLC), we own 4 valets and we find them invaluable...a real time saver. What you cannot see in the posted photos is that the valet is capable of holding round poles as well.

As a special note, Members of Workroom Association of America receive $40.00 off of the regular VALET price. Workroom Association of America is the only trade association specifically for Drapery, Upholstery, Slipcover and Bedding workrooms. Professional workrooms are invited to check out the website at www.workroomassociation.com
